Having worked previously with the Mercury Theatre on a fundraising audit, followed by a capital feasibility study, Indigo were asked to create a capital campaign strategy for the organisation’s Mercury Rising appeal.

Designed to raise £1.7m towards an £8.7m extension and refurbishment, we made recommendations and conducted research on trusts, high net-worth individuals, and micro giving campaigns which were then taken forward by the Mercury team.  We have remained involved as a critical friend throughout the campaign.

Embarking on the practical aspects of a capital project is a challenge – but also facing a large fundraising target for a regional theatre with limited experience of raising funds might be called foolish. BUT – with the support of Indigo we have been able to focus our efforts and energy. We’ve nearly reached our target, have a permanent fundraising team and have embedded the skills and knowledge throughout the organisation. Everyone at Indigo has been more than a critical friend – they’ve become our best mate guiding us through the good times and the bad!
