Indigo Share Ireland – Terms and Conditions

Indigo Share Ireland is a collaborative research initiative, developed with the Performing Arts Forum, which encourages cultural organisations in Ireland to undertake similar audience research together, in order to increase the benefit to the whole sector.

In order to do this successfully, we need to be clear about how we collect, use and share audience findings.

Definitions:

Host organisation – the cultural organisation wishing to undertake research with its audiences

Audience responses – numeric or text responses to questions asked in surveys

Collecting audience responses

  • Indigo Share Ireland will require the host organisation to send out survey links (provided by Indigo Ltd) to its own customer lists. Indigo Ltd will not receive or handle any personal data from host organisations.
  • Free plans will have a maximum annual audience response limit of 1,000 per survey per year. If you require additional responses please contact support@indigo-ltd.com.
  • Indigo Ltd will offer advice on how many, and which customers should be contacted to achieve a robust response. In many cases, research of this kind can be conducted under the legal basis ‘performance of a contract’, meaning that all customers can be contacted. However, it is entirely the responsibility of the host organisation to ensure they have the required data protection policies in place to support this.
  • Audience responses will be collected in real time, and stored in Indigo Ltd’s survey software, QuestionPro. No personal data is collected, so there is no requirement for a data-sharing agreement between the host organisation and Indigo Ltd. All data is stored within the European Economic Area.
  • Indigo Ltd will offer a prize draw incentive to all respondents, across all participating surveys. This will be an annual random selection, drawn from all participants who give their email address and opt into the draw. The prize is €100 in high street shopping vouchers or theatre tokens. Terms and conditions apply.
  • Although survey responses are completely anonymous, we offer all respondents the option to take part in future arts research by being part of the Indigo Audience Panel (Ireland), managed by Indigo Ltd. If they opt in to do this, their details are gathered in a separate survey and their personal data is not linked in any way to their individual responses. They can unsubscribe from this at any time.

Survey questions

  • Core survey questions are set by 1 January each year. Indigo Ltd consults with existing users, Performing Arts Forum and with others in the sector to review the questions annually, and to incorporate any changes to funder requirements before the new year begins.
  • Bespoke additional questions on paid plans will be reviewed and updated annually before 1 January. Whilst we will aim to accommodate any question changes within the year, this may affect reporting, so we will discuss with you the best option.

Sharing Research findings

  • The host organisation will have access to view responses from their own audiences in real time, via a link to an online dashboard provided by Indigo Ltd.
  • No other organisation (other than Indigo Ltd and our data processors) will have access to the host organisation’s results. Aggregated data will be shared with Performing Arts Forum and Heather Maitland (Arts Consultant) in advance of release to organisations.
  • By taking part in Indigo Share Ireland the host organisation agrees that the response data will be aggregated and included in 'sector wide' results, which will be published and shared with the sector by Indigo Ltd and Performing Arts Forum. Results may be aggregated and analysed by type/size/location of organisation, or by audience demographic (eg. by age) across the whole dataset. Indigo Ltd will take care never to publish data that could make an individual host organisation’s results identifiable.
  • All reports produced are the sole property of Indigo Ltd but may be shared with others in the sector with credit to Indigo Ltd.
  • Indigo Ltd may choose to work with other partners and academics in the cultural sector to undertake further analysis of the data set and add commentary and insight; and may share findings with industry and legislative bodies to assist in policy and decision making. Only the aggregated data set will be shared with partners in order to do this, and no individual organisational data will be exposed.
  • The benchmark dataset and individual reports remain copyright of Indigo Ltd. The publication of individual benchmark reports or the sharing of the benchmark data without prior permission from Indigo Ltd and without attribution to Indigo Ltd is not permitted.
